Hello everyone,
I hope you are all having a good weekend and you are doing interesting things with your photography. Today we are heading off to Fes in Morocco. We’ll be in the country for several weeks travelling around, exploring, meeting people, taking photos and writing. We would love to share our stories with you along the way.
Photography is my passion, and it really helps connect and reveal the world around me. I hope it offers doses of inspiration to you, whether that is seeing the world around you in a new way, to explore new places or to delve into the process of creating even more.
I was incredibly inspired by Hong Kong (I’ve just added a gallery to my site of photos) and I’ve made a 2 minute film all about Hong Kong at Night. It’s a follow up to my first How I travel like an artist I made a few months ago.
Music is another passion of mine. What I love most about editing video is the soundtrack and timing of imagery and how an intital idea can evolve into an artistic concept. That is also part of the journey for me. If you have some headphones I highly recommend wearing them. I hope you enjoy it.

Great Video Anthony. I love the instrumental sound track, the fact that your photos are running above the registration of you commuting “at dawn” by train. I believe that whoever has been to HK first discovered the city through their commute by train from HK international airport so it took me back there. The photos are great, playful thanks to all those city lights, skycrapers, etc. Interesting work. It makes me feel l like travelling back there again, for photography purposes too. So thanks.

Thanks Sophie. I really enjoy making videos, though I am a novice. Putting my images to music is a new kind of thrill for me. I wish I could say I’m doing it for my followers but I feel like it’s all about me enjoying myself. 🙂
Your insight on the visuals is very interesting to me. Maybe we shoot it together next year!

Hello again Anthony. It was brilliant to see Hong Kong again in your latest blog. I travelled there at least once each year for 35 years, and stopped four years ago. It’s extraordinary how this city has grown, and continues to be so vibrant and inspiring. To think that when I first arrived there no buildings above 12 floors were permitted… I particularly liked your shot of one of the new very tall buildings, with building pipes and bushes in the foreground, the vertical shot of the estate (?West Kowloon?) and the shot of the fruit-faced stall holder. Of all the people in cities, the Hong Kong citizens are the least fazed by cameras, and yet the most animated, and I think you captured that. Thank you.

For someone who has spent so much time in Hong Kong and knows it so well I am glad that you feel I have done it right. It is just the start for me! That vertical shot is the Montane mansion estate in Quarry Bay – that was an amazing sight, the shot is pretty stock since it seems to be the obvious one to do and is what took me there in the first place, so really it was all about the experience of seeing such astounding architecture. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Marrakech! The main square at night. The leather tanneries. Head south towards the Atlas Mountains. I climbed the highest peak there (Mt. Toubkal) but the eye opener was the medieval villages en route. A photographer’s paradise!
I’ll send you my favourite Marrakech shot.
