The Winners of our Photo Challenge + Our next Masterclass
Hey folks,
How are you? I hope life is good, and you and yours are safe and well.
Last week I had the pleasure of doing a live critique of the submissions from our latest photo challenge.
We themed the challenge around my Masterclass on How to Tell Stories with your Images.
(And if you didn’t catch the Masterclass you still have two more days for free access. Either by joining the Facebook group or if you’re not on Facebook, watch it here.)
I challenged everyone to either shoot something new or find something in their archives (I know it’s tough to shoot for many of us still) in this theme.
I love hosting critiquing sessions, because analysing photos – your own or other peoples – is a really good way to develop your eye.
Learning to break down what works and doesn’t work is an excellent way of learning to ‘create’ shots and be aware of everything in the frame.
There were some great entries to the challenge – and I couldn’t pick one favourite – so I picked two! And here they are – in no particular order:
Winner no.1
Liliane Clement
Winner no. 2
Sarah Poirier
What do you think? Do you agree these tell a story?
Let me know in the comments below.
The winners received a copy of one of my photo books.
There is still time to catch my critique if you submitted our images or you’d like to see how I analyse photos, visit the group for the video.
My next Masterclass
And the next Masterclass + Photo Challenge starts this Friday.

All hosted in my group, join here: The Art of the Image Photo Group
I hope to connect with you in the group, and please feel free to share with any photo-loving friends. We love sharing these lessons and teachings!
Have an awesome day everyone,
Anthony and Diana

Hi, Anthony! This blog post leaves me bursting with emotion… Here’s why:
The two photos you chose as winners of the latest photo challenge are both very interesting. The first one of the two guys with the bicycles (by Liliane Clement) caused me to do a double-take, trying to understand exactly what was happening. 🤔☺
The second photo (by Sarah Poirier), however, spoke to me on a personal level. The man in this image seems very happy to see his loved one, but the photo brought tears to my eyes, remembering the pain of visiting my own grandmother “through the window.” 😢 I hope Sarah reads my comment because I want her to know that her photo speaks volumes.
Thank you for sharing.
